South Indian actress Meera Jasmine and composer Mandolin U. Rajesh's romance has come to an end as the latter has confirmed the news saying 'time is a great healer' and that he would like to concentrate on his muisc.'I dreamt of something else and what has happened is in no way connected to my dreams. Time is a great healer. I can't say anything more than this at this juncture. I would like to concentrate on my music,' said Rajesh.Meera was said to have planned to earn as much as she could before her marriage and reportedly their relationship soured when the actress went on a signing spree and accepted Tamil and Malayalam offers. She even signed films opposite newcomers. Malayalam writer-director Lohithadas dead 
Veteran Malayalam film director and script writer A.K. Lohithadas died here Sunday morning following cardiac arrest, leaving the Malayalam movie industry and film fans in shock. He was 54.Lohithadas, who scripted several blockbusters for superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal, died at a private hospital. His last rites are set to take place at his hometown Palakkad Monday morning.The director, who was popularly called Lohi, burst onto the Malayalam film industry with his story and script of award winning film 'Thaniyavarthanam', which catapulted Mammootty to stardom in 1987.A shocked Mammootty said: 'The world is such that people just disappear like this and it is really painful. We very recently had a long talk on a forthcoming film.'Mohanlal said it was Lohithadas' script that was largely instrumental in making his acting career a success.'We worked closely on numerous projects and we had finalised to work in two forthcoming projects and now he is no more,' said Mohanlal.Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan said the state had lost a valuable person who understood the problems of the common man, which was reflected in his writings.Lohithadas directed a dozen films and he was also credited with introducing talented actresses like Manju Warrier and Meera Jasmine. Another heroine he brought to the screen was Bhama in his last film 'Nivedyam' in 2007.ome of the hit films he wrote include 'Bharatham', 'Thoovalkottaram' and 'His Highness Abdullah', while among the acclaimed movies he made are 'Kasthoorimann' and 'Kanmadam'. Prithviraj in Major Ravi's film 
Prithviraj will be doing the lead role in the next film by Major Ravi, who earlier had served in the Indian Army as a commando. Major Ravi had associated with reputed directors like Priyadarshan before debuting as a director himself with the children's film 'Punarjani' (featuring Mohanlal's son Pranav in the lead role). Major Ravi's Prithviraj-starrer, will however not be a film based on war or the army in any way. Titled 'Maadan Kolly', the film will be a mix of fantasy and horror, and will be produced by P. Rajan under the banner of Vaishakha Films. Maadan Kolly is based on script by Sunil Parameshwaran, and will feature cinematography by Thirru. Adoor's movie in International film festival 
"Oru Pennum Rendu Aanum" directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan seems to be getting accolades from all directions. The movie has already won five state awards. Now the movie is headed for the International Film Festival in Munich.The film festival is scheduled from June 26th to July 4th. This movie is supposedly based on the short stories by Thakazhi Shivasankara Pillai and the chances are that Adoor might have to travel to the venue to take part in the film fest. Meera Nandan's second Tamil film 
Upcoming Malayalam actress Meera Nandan, who is set to debut in Tamil with Valmiki, directed by debutant G. Anantha Narayanan (former assistant of Shankar) opposite Akhil of Kalloori fame, has signed her second Tamil film titled Ayyanar opposite Mridugam Aadi, produced by P.L. Thenappan of Sri Rajalakshmi Films. More details are awaited. Set to grace screens this Friday (26th June), Valmiki is a two-heroine film, which is said to have given enough space for Meera to prove her acting skills in Tamil.
Music maestro Ilayaraja recently launched the audio of Valmiki at Satyam Cinemas along with director Shankar. Touted to be a clean love story, the film has already attracted public attention for its unique title. Director Anantha Narayanan said the film has been named after sage Valmiki, for he found the name catchy and also, there is a similarity between the sage and the protagonist of his film, Poonakann Pandi. Navya Nair’s new Tamil release ‘Rasikkum Seemane’ with Srikanth is said to feature some steamy sensuous scenes. She is following a two headed track with ideas to turn glamourous in Tamil. However, Navya is said to have agreed to take on this role in the condition that, her photos of alluring looks shouldn’t be handed to media channels.

Dileep's new movie ‘Pappy Appacha’ Dileep's new movie titled ‘Pappy Appacha’ will kick off its shoot by the opening weeks of next month. To be produced by Dileep's brother Anoop in the banner of Grand productions, the movie will feature veteran actor Innocent and Dileep as father and son. Told in the backdrop of a Christian family, this humorous adventure laced with action and sentiments, will be directed by debutante Mammas, an associate to Shafi and Rafi-Mecartin. Dileep's other new movie is the one with director Kamal. Bhavan will be the heroine of Dileep in this movie which will also feature Tamil star Sathyaraj in an important role. Innocent re-elected president of AMMA The Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) has unanimously elected comedy artiste Innocent as its president for the fourth time in a row. Innocent said that he wanted to step down, but had to accept the post for the fourth time because everyone wanted him to continue.Even though the Malayalam film industry is passing through difficult times with lesser number of films being produced, the body of film artistes is united as ever before and the actor is very happy. Innocent has been the president of AMMA since 2000 and at an executive meeting held here Monday night, there were no issues when his name was cleared unanimously. Apart from Innocent, 16 other artistes were also elected unanimously to the executive committee. The two vice presidents are two time opposition legislator K.B. Ganesh Kumar and Mukesh. Veteran superstar Mohanlal is the general secretary, while Edavela Babu is the secretary and Jagadish is the treasurer. Superstar Mammooty and actor Dileep also found places in the committee. The official announcement would be made here Thursday and the new committee will take charge at the 15th annual general body meeting to be held here June 25.
Actor Shiney Ahuja arrested on rape charges Shiney Ahuja, the bollywood star who had done movies like Gangster, Karam and Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi has been embroiled in a rape case and is awaiting medical tests. An 18-year old maid servant has made the charges, which landed the Bollywood actor in the custody of the Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai this week. We spoke to celebrity publicist Dale Bhagwagar, who had been handling the publicity for Shiney a year ago. The PR specialist was also one of the first to reach the Oshiwara Police Station to try and help the film star. International Documentary and Short film Festival The Kerala State Chalachitra Academy is conducting the second International Documentary and Short film Festival of Kerala at Thiruvananthapuram from June 19 to 25. The viewers can experience the depth of humanlife, filled with smiles and tears, for one week. Around 144 works which include competition and non competition category will be screened. Kairali and Sree theatres are the venue. Revenue Minister K.P. Rajendran will inaugurate the fest on Friday at Kairali theatre in the evening. V. Sivankutty M.L.A will preside the function. T V Chandran's ‘Vilaapanagalkkappuram’ opens in twenty centres, all cross the state today. The movie which bagged four important awards in this year's State Fim Awards, including that of best screenplay, and best actress for Priyanka, is thus getting a good number of theatres for release. The movie which also feature Suhasini, Thilakan and Biju Menon, in key roles is told in the backdrop of Gujarat riots. The movie tells the unrelenting struggle of a young lady, who is forced to elope from her home state to Kerala. The movie cinematographed by M J Radhakrishanan also won awards for best playback singer for Manjary. Prithviraj in a horror movie 
Director Kukku Surendran is once again teaming up Prithviraj in his next, a horror film. The name of the film is not yet finalised. S. Balachandran, who has penned Mohanlal's ongoing Alexander the Great, is the man behind the story, dialogue and screenplay of this Prithviraj starrer. More details are awaited. Prithviraj is currently busy with two Malayalam films: Puthiya Mukham and Robin Hood. Puthiya Mukham, directed by debutant Deepan, an associate of Shaji Kailas, has completed its entire shooting, except a song which will be soon canned in Malaysia. Prithviraj plays the role of a Brahmin musician studying in an engineering college, who takes on the real estate mafia and liquor lobby. Produced by P.K. Muralidharan and Shantha Murali of Anantha Vision (maker of Lal Jose's Classmates and Shafi's Chocolate), Robin Hood is penned by Sachi and Sethu, who wrote the script of Prithviraj’s super hit Chocolate (2007).The story is about a high-tech computer wizard and a crook (Prithviraj) who specializes in ATM robberies.
