Machan Varghese Passed Away

Comedian, Machan Varghese passed away. He was 50. He was suffering from Prostrate Cancer and was admitted in hospital since 3 weeks. His condition got worsened yesterday and was on ventilator. He is remembered through many of his characters. Thenkasipattanam, Meesa madhavan, thilakkam, kabooli vala are some of his remarkable movies. The nickname Machan was given to him by director Siddique because of his habit of addressing others as Machan He was last seen in Best of Luck, and Bombay Mittai will be released posthumously. . He is survived by wife Elsy, and sons Robichan and Rinchu.

India's leading commercial director Priyadarshan is reportedly interested in buying the Hindi remake rights of super hit Malayalam romantic comedy Salt N Pepper, directed by Aashiq Abu with Lal, Asif Ali, Shweta Menon, Mythili, Baburaj and Vijayaraghavan in the lead roles. Priyadarshan is currently busy with two films: Tez (Hindi), starring Mohanlal, and another Mohanlal starrer Arabiyum Ottakavaum P. Madhavan Nairum (Malayalam). Salt N Pepper is expected to commence after the director completes his two ongoing films.

Two film years old, actress cum TV anchor Akhila, who is busy with the post-release works of her recent flick Teja Bhai & Family, informed that she is not in a hurry to do movies back-to-back, though she is receiving offers even from Tamil and Telugu. Why? "I didn't want to rush myself into anything. Even now, after Teja Bhai, I haven't signed anything. I am on the look out for a good script. I would like to do challenging roles," she said.

Nayanthara is getting married to Prabhudeva

Nayanthara, the South Indian Actress, is getting married to Prabhu Deva, actor and choreographer of the South Indian Film industry. After a long controversial period, Prabhudeva signed the mutual divorce petition with his first wife Ramlath on the last December on the Chennai family court. The proceedings at the Chennai court will be over by June, report says. Marriage will be held in Chennai probably on July itself, reports add.

Jayan is Again on Silver Screen!!

Jayan, the evergreen hero of Malayalam film, is coming back to the big screen! The movie is titled to be “Avatharam” in which Jayan is recreated by 12 Hollywood technicians, Vijeesh Mani, the Director of the movie said. Some new Technologies and animation techniques are used in the movie to recreate the eternal idol in the new outlooks. Production designer of Hollywood films Richard Holley and Jayan’s nephew and animation expert Kannan Nair will also work for the movie. Kalabhavan Mani, Harisree Asokan, Bheeman Reghu, Swetha Menon etc are casted in the movie. Lyrics by Vayalar Sarthchandra Varma and music is done by Sanjay Chowdhari. Sudheer. The movie would have five songs including one in Arabic. M.Ramachandra Menon, and Rajesh Attukal will be the producers and is the expected budget is approximately 3 crores. The first shoot will be held on February 15th and will be completed in three months. The film is expected to be a new experience to the Malayalam Film viewers.
